Lateral is headed by Anand Kapadia and Eli Hattem, who worked together prior to founding Lateral, and have known each other for over 25 years. Each brings more than 35 years of institutional experience sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and investing in all types of commercial real estate transactions across the U.S.
Since the 1980's, Lateral's principals have collectively completed over 3,800 transactions totaling more than $40 billion in volume. They have worked at major financial institutions and boutique investment firms, investing in commercial real estate assets, purchasing pools of non-performing debt, managing lending platforms, and brokering debt and equity.
Lateral's principals continue to evolve and improve. Today, that means utilizing AI and modern data infrastructure to enhance the investment process, not replace it. Technology makes us more efficient, but every investment decision is grounded in decades of hard-won experience.
